How much is airport tax? How to pay?

 

International departure: IDR 200,000.; Domestic departure: IDR 75,000.- All airport service charge should be paid (in IDR cash) at airport tax counter desk, after check in process. Check custom detail here! The ticket which is issued on February 2015 onward, already include airport tax. Please check your ticket or airline or agency offices.

Passport Validity

 

Validity of passport should be minimum 6 month at the date of entry.

Visa

 

Most of ASEAN Countries do not need visa / visa on arrival. So, please do not queue at VOA line. Tourist from other countries can have VOA at airport. The general requirements for Visa On Arrival are: Expiration date of the applicant’s passport must be at least 6 (six) months at the date of entry; At least one blank visa page; Round-trip airplane ticket; Visa on Arrival fee (refer below). The fees for Visa On Arrival are: Visa for stay up to 7 (seven) days in several Special Economic Zones (SEZ)= US$ 15,-; Visa for stay up to 30 (thirty) days = US$ 35,- Extension of stay for up to 30 (thirty) days = US$ 35,- List of VOA Countries

Currency, Credit Card, Money Changer, and Tax

 

Official currency is IDR (Rupiah); other currency are acceptable at tourist places (hotel, restaurant, gallery, etc). A lot merchant accept major credit card (Amex, Visa, Master Card), some of them need additional bank charge at 2% - 4.5%, so please check to the merchant. For changing money, please go to authorized money changer. Their exchange rate is up to date. Check exchage rate here! Goverment official value-added tax is 10%, some places may add 21% tax and service charge

Tipping in B A L I

 

Tipping is normal in all over the world. Standard of tipping is not available, you may consider this:

1. Giving one short help (restaurant, bellboy, etc): Min. IDR 10,000 - IDR 20,000

2. Giving emergency assistance: Min. IDR 50,000.-

3. Giving a half day services (transfer in, transfer our, half day): Min. IDR 50,000.-

4. Giving a full day services (Transfer + dinner, tour, etc): Min. 100,000.-

5. Giving adventure assistance (trekking guide, rafting, canyoning, etc): Min. IDR 100,000.-

6. Giving food / good / book / etc. as tipping also acceptable, sometimes this is symbol of respect and friendship.

7. Handling a package tour: USD 5/person/day (Example: If you buy 5 days package, travel in a group of 5 people, then tipping for whole trip is USD 5 x days x 5 pax = USD 125 (for driver and tour guide).
